The Cave is a unique underground bar in the heart of Niederau, Austria. Located underneath the award-winning Hotel Staffler the Cave has been a local institution for more than 50 years – a bedrock of late evening entertainment! Three great bars, live music, Karaoke, theme nights, free entry always, pub prices, complimentary high speed wifi and so much more.’

THREE BARS!
Our Long bar is always busy and the real social hub of the Cave. Lots of seating along the length of the bar and around high tables opposite. There are two popular pool tables and a large screen TV showing live sport every night. Great bar decor and a fantastic subterranean atmosphere. Our non smoking Chill Out bar offers a combination of soft furnishings and low lounge tables – a chance to sit and chat and relax while our Venue and Event bar is utilised for live music gigs, theme nights and Karaoke. Free entry every night, pub prices and high speed wifi throughout the Cave.
LIVE MUSIC
We’ve live music each and every week, throughout the season. Very busy nights in the Cave attracting local Austrian’s, Ski School instructors and their groups, Staffler Hotel guests and tourists from around the resort. Gigs normally start around 0945 and continuing until around midnight. Lots of guests stay till much later. Check what live music’s on in the Cave on our What’s On page
nail game
THE NAIL GAME
An Austrian Apres and evening institution and embraced from opening to closing in the Cave. It’s simples! A game involving a hammer with a narrow head, a nail for each of those taking part an understanding that whoever looses buys a shot for everyone taking part! Start by tapping every nail into the log then in turn and clockwise it’s one attempt to connect hammer and nail. Round and round you go with participants dropping out as their nail is hammered in. Last one left pays! Its a great game, pretty addictive and popular and there’s no better place to play than in the Cave. As with all things skilful the more you practice the better you get!
CAVE PIZZAS
Whether it's a quick bite to eat after work or an evening with friends why not try one of our tasty pizzas available to eat in-house or as a takeaway. At just €10 each, they are very popular and are available from opening to closing every single night of the season!
